Here are four facts about anxiety that you may not know.
1. Women have double the risk than men
Scientific studies have shown that girls and women are more at risk. This spans from the time they start puberty until the age of 50. In this period, she is more likely to have an anxiety disorder.
2. Genetics play a role in things too
If you have anxiety, it’s likely someone in your family does also. “Individuals inherit a predisposition to being an anxious person, (and) about 30% to 40% of the variability is related to genetic factors,” explains psychologist Amy Przeworski for Everyday Health.
