41% Fall In Arrests For Supplying Cannabis In Leeds
Local police made 46 arrests in 2014/15, but only 27 in 2018/19.

Arrests for supplying cannabis in Leeds has declined by 41% over the last five years.
West Yorkshire Police made 46 arrests in 2014/15, with 29 arrested in 2015/16 and 26 in 2016/17. 11 arrests occurred 2017/18, followed by 27 in 2018/19.
Sharing the findings to the media literacy charity The Student View, the police note that “figures represent the number of arrests made (not individuals) during the period where the detainee was arrested for one or more offences relating to supply of cannabis, and the detainee was arrested in Leeds district.”
West Yorkshire Police declined to comment any further on these findings.
