Homophobia In Waltham Forest: 48 Young People Subject To Hate Crime
48 people under the age of 25 were victims of hate crime in Waltham Forest over the last five years, new Metropolitan Police homophobia data reveals.

Eight children under the age of 18 have been victim to homophobic hate crime in Waltham Forest over the last five years.
Another 40 victims were between 18-24 over the same time period.
The data from Metropolitan Police shows that in 2015, five under-18s were the victim of a homophobic hate crime which included violence, with a further one incident in 2016, 2018 and 2019.
Nine 18-24-year-olds were victims of crimes of this nature in 2015, and six in 2016. This rose to seven in 2017, 10 in 2018 and seven once again in 2019.
Violent crimes may include sexual offences, robbery and/or violence against a person.
Metropolitan Police were approached for comment but refused.
