Become a newsroom partner
The Student View at your school
If you’re a school looking to improve media literacy levels amongst your pupils, or to host a local news workshop, we would love to hear from you.
We are dedicated to improving students’ ability and confidence with the written word and to publishing the stories that matter the most to young people. Our workshops cover a core news and media literacy curriculum, after which pupils create articles where we provide them with the expertise, structure, and skills to tell their own stories.
How to get involved
Our team is here to help you every step of the way. The programme has been designed to be easy to implement, beginning with an informal chat, and requiring little to no administration outside of the workshops themselves.
You can reach The Student View team by emailing email@example.com.
Who can take part?
To ensure that we are devoting our time to the students who need us the most, at least 50% of TSV journalists per newsroom (school) must be in receipt of the pupil premium, and underperforming in English.
We also frequently work with pupils who are high ability, whether as extra stimulus for high achievers, or as a means to reengage those who are currently finding life tricky.
Not in your area?
We are currently in various regions around the UK, as we love to work with children whose stories are not often heard. We have several fully-funded location-specific places available.
Even if your school is in a region we are not currently working in, we would still love to hear from you. There may be other ways you can get involved with our work, and it is more than likely that we have plans in the pipeline to expand to your area in the future! If that is the case, expressing your interest early will put you at the top of our list for further updates and news.
Costs and subsidy
The majority of our places each year are subsidised thanks to our partners and are often completely free for our schools. To ask whether you qualify for one of these places, please get in touch.
Our programme costs reflect the quality and impact of our work and represent excellent value. If you’d like to join the programme or are simply looking for more information, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
We look forward to hearing from you!
