More and more people are going vegetarian every single year here are five reasons why you should make the change too.
1. Saving animals
Research from the Animal Charity Evaluators found that the average vegetarian in the UK saves 1.2-14 land animals each year, and 23-96 fish and shellfish. Meaning the average British vegetarian saves 24-110 animals per year.
2. Better for the planet
One of the biggest causes of tropical deforestation is the conversion of forests to pastureland. This means growing crops and livestock to meet the world’s daily needs for meat and dairy. By going vegetarian you could help put a stop to the ruin of our world.
3. Some research suggests you’ll live longer
Researchers from Loma Linda University found that vegetarians have a 12% lower mortality rate compared to the average meat eater.
4. The oceans will thank you
Many oceans are being overfished due to the high demand for seafood for consumption. A wide variety of animals are getting closer to extinction every single day because of this, including dolphins, seabirds and turtles.
