Not everyone agrees on the same things. Not everyone agrees that unicorns are real. Not everyone agrees that the world was better before technology. But not everyone agrees that pineapple belongs on pizza. Here are four reasons to change their minds.
1. There’s a scientific reason behind it
For all those people who are trying to eat healthily but fail; this is for you. Pineapple contains vitamin C and manganese, both of which are good for you. Manganese is an antioxidant and vitamin C helps the immune system. They also contain vitamin B2, which gives you more energy and better reaction times. Anyone who says pineapple on pizza is bad for you: you are wrong.
2. Lots of people like it
Some people might disagree with this but according to a survey by YouGov, 53 per cent of Brits like pineapple on pizza, compared to 41 per cent who dislike it. Are you really going to go against the statistics?
3. The experts say yes
If there’s anyone who should decide the answer to this impossible debate, it’s the experts.
“Definitely,” said Esad Djokovic, GM of Downey Pizza Co. “One of our pizzas, it’s called The Trio, you put meatballs, jalapenos, and pineapple. The mixture, you know, it tastes good. It goes together.”
You can’t argue with the experts. Here’s another response: “Everybody loves pineapple! It’s very popular,” said another local manager, Debbie Montgomery. “Canadian bacon and pineapple, pepperoni and pineapple, the third one is jalapenos and pineapple. Very popular here.”
4. It tastes GOOD!
There is nothing more to it. Everyone has different opinions and you should just accept it. But if it tastes good enough that somebody wrote an entire book purely about why pineapple does belong on pizza, clearly there’s nothing wrong with it.
