The World Needs More Pilots. Could It Be The Career For You?

As time ticks by, technology advances. More people are utilising air travel as a way to get from one place, or even to get right around the globe. You may have flown on an aircraft at one stage of your life. Could becoming a pilot be a smart career choice for you?
More pilots are needed in the industry
The demand for air travel is at its highest peak. According to the International Air Transport Association (IATA), 7.2 billion people are expected to fly in 2035. That is double the amount of passengers flying today.
In order to cope with this growth, more people are required to join the aeronautical industry. Airbus makes the lowest estimation and predicts that at least 450,000 pilots will be needed in 2035. Boeing, meanwhile, suggests that 790,000 pilots are required in order to keep up with the demand.
Therefore, more people should be interested in joining an aeronautical career to keep up with the demand.
You will get paid well
Yes, learning to become a pilot is not the easiest thing to achieve financially. However, tuition fees are very quickly compensated by the salary you will receive. The salary of a commercial pilot ranges from £20,000 and goes up to £140,000, depending on your experience.
Becoming a pilot is hard but not impossible
Becoming a pilot does require quite a bit of effort, but it is nowhere near impossible. In order to get into an aeronautical course, you only require GCSEs at grade 4 or above and A levels in core subjects such as English, Maths or Science.
After your course, you will get your ATPL (Airline Transport Pilot’s) licence. According to a pilot from Monarch Airlines “on a regular flight, the autopilot does around 90 per cent of the flying.”
Without new pilots, the demand of passengers will be too high. You can have the skills that are required to become a pilot. You’ll have your license and uniform in no time!
