The Financial Times partners with us

Financial Times journalists have pledged to support The Student View by hosting newsroom workshops in some of London’s most underprivileged schools.

In October 2018, The Financial Times announced that it would be partnering with The Student View to help in our efforts to improve media literacy among young people.

Since then, 10 FT journalists have volunteered in 10 of our Financial Times sponsored newsrooms in London, giving young people a chance to share their world through words.

These FT journalists have given time for one session to share their expertise with pupils aged 12 – 15 while they create their own content. At some of the cities most underprivileged schools, each has also given the students an introduction to news, the media landscape, the differences between fact and opinion and spotting fake news.

"We are delighted to be partnering with The Student View to raise awareness of the vital role journalism plays in our society - and to champion diversity across the industry. We want to give young people a platform to use their voice and help them to develop their story-writing skills."
