World News Day, on May 2nd 2019, will “celebrate the stories, the people, the reporting and the professional news organisations that are dedicated to changing lives, challenging the status quo, holding those in power to account and supporting freedom and democracy.”
Here at The Student View, we are working towards making it media literacy essential part of school curriculums across the globe.
At The Student View, we believe the healthiest democracies nurture their young people to thrive as active and thoughtful citizens.
Our charity trains young people from underserved communities in schools across the United Kingdom as local news reporters.
We are thrilled to have founded World News Day’s “sixth pillar” which promotes the value of media literacy and we are working towards making it an essential part of school curriculums across the globe.
World News Day is an exciting opportunity to champion grassroots, young and diverse voices by giving young people the chance to share their world through words.
