What is a video game?

Cornell University describes a video game as “a game played by electronically manipulating images produced by a computer program on a monitor or other display.”

Companies like Sony and Nintendo make their own consoles so they can build a huge library of their own video games. Many people also play video games that are online, rather than on a console.

Why do people play online video games?

Most video gamers play online because they can be more challenging and fun. The game Fortnite is an example of this. Loads of people play this game because of the joy it brings.

Are there benefits to online gaming?

There are numerous benefits to playing online video games. In games like Fortnite, you need to think very carefully about your next action. Otherwise, you will lose. I believe that therefore you increase your IQ, as you are forced to think correctly. It is also important to note that playing video games can increase your reaction speed to certain situations.

How often should you play video games?

Video games are a lot of fun, but you should also set time limits to your play times. If you keep playing for hours at end, you will put stress on your eyes. If you’re in school, you need to make enough time to finish homework and revise if you’ve got tests approaching.

Play video games and enjoy the experience, but do so in moderation! It will be there waiting for you when your homework is done!
